VIRALUX

Viralux is an art and music project founded in London in 2001 by Gordon Dawson and Trish Lyons. We record and perform music and produce artworks and videos. There is a good Viralux video playlist here on our record label.

Our music is recorded and produced in Camberwell, South London at Gordon Dawson’s Cream Guillotine Studios and curated by Michael Curran. We have collaborated with the artist Louisa Minkin and produced music with Heather Jones of The Blommacult and Chris Valentine of The Plankwalkers. Viralux music has been described as post-punk psychedelic, we hear it as music for movies inside our heads. We perform in small venues and alternative spaces including art galleries in London such as; Five Years Gallery, Camden Arts Centre, Arcola Theatre, Matt’s Gallery, Beaconsfield Gallery and most recently Forbidden City, Antwerp.

I have featured our music in a few blog posts, they give a taste of our live performances: Tiger Lady, Rainer Werner Fassbinder and Vocalis. Our latest EP Hex Fuzz is a mix of dark spoken word and psychoelectro pop. It was made over 3 years between London and Mexico. You can hear our music on Spotify and Bandcamp. Our music is released through LoveHowlMuse Records.
